It is calculated by comparing the cost of needed repairs to the total replacement value of the park's developed areas, providing a standardized metric to guide maintenance and renewal planning. The Park Condition Index (PCI) typically ranges from 0 to 100, where lower scores indicate better condition. A score of 0 to 20 signifies 'Good' condition, 21 to 29 indicates 'Fair' condition, and 30 or higher denotes 'Poor' condition.

For detailed scoring methodology, refer to the Parks Master Plan. Scores are calculated by a script based on this methodology.

Contact Information:

City Planning Department

Phone: (619) 235-5200

Email: planning@sandiego.gov
