Layers: Description: This data layer is being provided for visualization purposes and should not be used to determine where SB 79 will apply on a specific property. Proposals for development under SB 79 will be evaluated for consistency with California Government Code and City's Municipal Code requirements.SB 79 will take effect on July 1, 2026, and will require the City to permit more homes near transit in certain areas of the City. The legislation provides the City with multiple options for compliance, including the ability to implement SB 79 in phases. The website will explain the new law, share the Department’s plan to implement SB 79 in phases, and give residents an opportunity to sign up for updates and keep informed regarding this new initiative.
