Display Field: NAME

Type: Feature Layer

Geometry Type: esriGeometryPolygon

Description: <DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>Tie point sheets are among the most important documents created by the city during the Works Progress Administration. They are the best available evidence of the location of controlling monuments in the older sections of the city. They were created based on old survey field notes about the original locations of the monuments. Most monuments consist of small lead plugs set in drill holes in sidewalks, centered with a small brass or copper nail. These monuments were typically set at a seven-foot offset to the right of way line while in some instances, they were set at odd locations. Without the tie point sheet, it is impossible to verify where the monument is located and more importantly, how to use it.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
