Description: <DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>The Vertical Benchmarks are used to establish elevations for the design of City Improvement Projects.The dataset contains 2 types of benchmarks:</SPAN></P><OL><LI><P><SPAN>Benchmarks established by the original City leveling surveys are designated non-adjusted. Those have a value of “No” on the USGS Adjusted field.</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>Benchmarks established by subsequent City leveling surveys primarily based on the 1970 United States Geodetic Survey (USGS) adjustment and designated as adjusted. Those have a value of “Yes” on the USGS Adjusted field or an asterisk at the beginning of the Description field.</SPAN></P></LI></OL><P><SPAN>The published benchmark values of the 2 sets may not match each other within a couple of tenths of a survey-foot and should not be used together to control the same survey. The location of the benchmarks is given by intersection and the description field will provide a more detailed location within the intersection.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
