Data depict the locations of General Acute Care licensed hospitals (GACH). In addition, those GACH with emergency departments who also participate as a receiving center for 9-1-1 calls are identified.The California Department of Public Health defined a GACH as “a hospital, licensed by the Department, having a duly constitutedgoverning body with overall administrative and professional responsibility and anorganized medical staff which provides 24-hour inpatient care, including thefollowing basic services: medical, nursing, surgical, anesthesia, laboratory,radiology, pharmacy, and dietary services”, pursuant to Section 70005(a) of Title22 of the California Code of Regulations (CCR). |
